We all love the clean breakout. The directional trend. But most markets spend a lot of time doing absolutely nothing—just oscillating in noisy, emotional ranges.

And if you don't recognize that early, you get chopped.

Range Market Survival Tactics

  1. Shrink expectations.Aim for smaller R targets. Don't expect expansion.

  2. Use wider stop zones or avoid altogether.Tight stops die fast in chop. Either adjust—or don't trade it.

  3. Switch to mean-reversion logic—or sit out.Trying to trend-trade in a range is like sailing against the wind.
